Tottenham Hotspur have announced that centre-back Cristian Romero has signed a new “long-term” contract with the club. 

Romero’s new deal comes after he was confirmed as the club’s new captain following Son Heung-Min’s transfer to MLS’ LAFC.

Sources have told ESPN the contract is set to run until the end of the 2028-29 season.
