With hope springing eternal at Old Trafford once again ahead of the new Premier League season, Manchester United have rolled out their away kit for the 2025-26 campaign.
Perhaps symbolic of a fresh start, the shirt is very nearly a literal clean slate, with a predominantly white base providing the background for the very faintest of graphic overlays.
The headline from a design standpoint is that United have once again revisited the popular “snowflake” pattern that was first used on their classic 1990-92 away kit and has become something of a staple since, especially when it comes to the club’s various lines of retro-inspired street and casual wear.
While the new shirt is fundamentally the same color as its ancestor from the early 1990s, the latest revamp of the United snowflake print sees the old jagged graphic enlarged across the entire jersey and the flakes themselves picked out in a faint lilac hue that seems to shimmer with a metallic effect.
It’s all very dainty and delicate, with minimal trim added in a contrasting but complimentary dark, plummy tone that has been used for the stripes across the shoulders and the simple V-neck design.
We have a feeling that the new United away kit is set to split opinion among the fan base, but at the very least, it’s always nice to see the old classics given a new lease on life — even if it does result in a pale imitation of the original.
